“How to Build a Stage” is a research project investigating the staging of dance improvisation, audience activation, and participation. The research engages with safer space policies (consent), object ontologies, dramaturgical perspectives, improvisational practices, and instant composition. Collaboration with audiences is central, as the project experiments with ways of co-creating spaces in which the Improv for Dance Enthusiast collective performs.

Improv for Dance Enthusiasts
The collective was formed in 2021 and is run by five foreign artists living and working in Iceland: Janosch Bela Kratz, Linde Hanna Rongen, Magdalena Tworek, Meeri Mäkinen, and Yelena Arakelow. We stand for inclusivity and transparency towards our participants and create an open learning environment for both beginners and experienced dance enthusiasts to share their passion for dance.
